Neil Kitchie, AIF

In launching Greenwood Wealth Management LLC, Neil Kitchie knew that his roots in the financial planning community would provide a strong foundation for his company. He also knew that one very important element was going to fuel its growth: personalized service.

“What I like most about the business I’ve chosen is that I get to deal with individual clients to help them map out their futures,” Neil says. “Those relationships — and really getting to know people — are the keys to successful investing and wealth management. As a financial advisor, I want to be very client-centric. That can only happen with a combination of service and personality.”

Greenwood Wealth Management LLC was designed to provide a different type of experience for clients. With his more than 35 years of experience in the financial services industry, Neil knew exactly how to make that happen.

“I’ve always enjoyed analytics,” Neil says. “Plain and simple, I’m a numbers person and the math is what makes the dreams come true. The analytics are what help people get their kids through college, plan for retirement and invest properly. My job as an asset manager is to show them ways to illuminate and pursue their goals.”

Earlier in his career, Neil had worked for large financial security firms and the wire houses, and had been on the banking side as well. He also successfully ran an independent practice for 20 years with a team of others in downtown Chicago.

By operating independently, Neil was able to offer objective advice to clients in regard to various financial products and services. This was a formula that he found yielded the best results.

With these experiences in mind, and with a nod to the tree-lined streets of Wilmette, where Neil has lived for over 20 years, he decided that “Greenwood” was a fitting name for his business. And in envisioning the company’s logo, nothing seemed more appropriate than a tree — a symbol of life, wisdom, growth and prosperity.

As principal of Greenwood Wealth Management, LLC, Neil provides comprehensive wealth services management for individuals, retirement plans, endowments and trusts. Since 1997, shortly after he first entered independent practice, Neil has been associated with LPL Financial as a Branch Manager.

LPL Financial, the nation’s largest independent brokerage firm, provides brokerage and custodial support to Greenwood Wealth Management LLC. Neil has earned admission to LPL Financial’s prestigious Chairman’s Club — a status reserved for the top five percent of all advisors of all registered representatives at LPL.

Neil holds Series 7, 63, 24 and 31 Licenses through LPL Financial and is licensed by the State of Illinois to market investment-related insurance products. He is also an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF).

Born in Carmel, Indiana, Neil earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Business from Indiana University. He and his wife Joan are the parents of five children — four boys and one girl. Their family home in Wilmette remains what Neil calls a “big sports house,” where hockey, baseball and football are followed with equal enthusiasm.

In addition to having been a youth baseball coach for 16 years, Neil remains involved in the fabric of his community through various charities and organizations. “There are three things that define my business and my life: family, faith and community.” Neil says. “I’m a financial advisor, but my relationships with people throughout my career have been strengthened by those three elements. For me, that has been a recipe for success.”
